About These Forums
AAR offers seven eight forums - our newest, The Wild Wild West, is currently in beta testing. Five are provided for you to discuss everything under the sun in terms of romance novels and three forums are here for your off-topic conversation. And just as with all of AAR, whether hosted internally or by others, our nav menu up can be found on top of all pages and our mini-search module on the bottom.
Though our forums are open in terms of who can read them, our system requires registration in order to post, and approval thereof. Click the "register" link, then follow the automated instructions. We will try and approve your registration as soon as possible.
Each forum has a similar structure, which includes a definition of the forum and how it is to be used, then the "discuss" area for your topics.
If you think a topic should be split (due to length or change of subject), please PM LLB.

About ATBF Forum...Current Column Questions
The At the Back Fence Forum is dedicated to discussion of topics raised in the current At the Back Fence column. Please post on this forum only about the new ATBF column - for May 5th - after you've read it. The questions we provide are simply a jumping off point for you; feel free to discuss the column in any way you wish.
To be sure you access the newest column by using the link above, always click here to refresh the page first.
If your post does not belong on this forum, it will be deleted.
As always, please don't feed the trolls.
Do you read everything you start, or do you have a DNF category? If you used to finish everything you read but no longer do, what changed your mind? If you continue to read everything you start, why do you suppose that is?
Whether you do so mentally or in actually, do you grade or rank your reads? If so, what are your criterion for a one star or three star or F or C book? If you don't grade/rank your reads, either in your head or on paper/computer, is there some sort of mental assessment you go through after closing a book, and if so, what is it?
What do you think is worse to read, a C or an F, and why? Is reading an F the same as watching a horrible movie, or is it different because you can watch a movie communally? Does that even out, though, by being able to share an F reading experience through talking or writing about it with friends and/or online?
Share - or at the very least, consider some of your most memorable Fs, and why they remain in your memory. Now do the same with some C reads...which group of books, if any, did you find it easier or more fun to write about?
What are your clunkers from this year? What are your Cs from this year? Do you think you'll remember any of them a year...or two...or five from now?

About Reviews Forum
The Reviews Forum is dedicated to interaction between readers on the more than 6,000 books we've reviewed (or written about in Pandora's Box) at AAR. Discussions
are not limited to the reviews/PB columns themselves, but they should
provide a nice start. Please post on this board only about books reviewed by AAR or in Pandora's Box. If your post does not belong on this board, it will be deleted without notice.

About Reader to Reader Forum
The Reader to Reader Forum is dedicated to providing readers an arena for asking and receiving answers for factual questions, and for discussing books we have not [yet] reviewed at AAR.
What posts belong on this forum?
- Posts about books not reviewed or not yet reviewed at AAR. As with other pages at AAR, a mini-search module like this one is located at the bottom of the forum.
- Posts about authors and books or any other subject that are essentially questions that can be answered definitively. (For example: How many books has Liz Carlyle written? What's a good UBS in Savannah? Who was the Duke of Earl? Here's the description of a book...what is its title?)
- Questions about historical definitions and history in general, although you might want to check out our Historical Cheat Sheet first.
If your post does not belong on this forum, it will be deleted without notice.

ATBF Archives
An At the Back Fence column generally is "new" for a period of a week. When it is replaced by another new column, ATBF Forum discussions are moved into the Potpourri area. Previous to our move to the phpbb system, we downloaded these discussions onto LLB's hard drive and deleted them from online. Now we can maintain them online.

The Wild Wild West
This forum is currently in beta testing.
We offer the Wild Wild West for the most adventurous and outspoken among us. This no-holds barred forum allows those of you who choose to participate to speak of the unspeakable...including politics and religion. As in the Wild West, though, there's no sheriff living in town and instead, it's visited occasionally by a circuit judge. Which means you're mostly on your own. Don't post here unless you can keep your cool and maintain a tongue-in-cheek air. To extend the frontier metaphor, if you need saving because you are easily offended, go back to the big city - ie, our other seven forums.
If your post does not belong on this forum, it will be deleted without notice.
As always, please don't feed the trolls!
